A message from exhibiting students:
“Open Source Artist is an Art Exhibition at The Oxford Academy by Oxford University students. The exhibition is a great opportunity to have a discussion between university and school students in Oxford. We hope to get the pupils thinking about making art or perhaps going to art school. By placing our art in their space the intention is to make the work accessible and stimulating. With government cuts, creative subjects are becoming less valued in the UK. The act of installing art in a secondary school is also a political act. This show has the capacity to be a positive statement about the importance of art in schools.”
